Rebecca was born into an American family of classical musicians in Gera, Germany. She started violin with her mother, a professional violinist, at age four and soon competed and won prizes in solo and chamber music competitions on a national level.
While attending the Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan one summer, Rebecca auditioned for the Academy and announced to her parents that she was going to high school in the States. Since then she has studied at Rice University, University of Oklahoma and The Juilliard School, and has performed in major concert halls across the globe, including Carnegie Hall and the Paris Philharmonic.
Despite leaving home at 14, Rebecca owes her career to the discipline and love that her family instilled in her. “ I was (and still am) somewhat of a daydreamer- but practicing violin helped me learn how to problem-solve, face challenges, be brave and speak from the heart. Whether violin is your hobby or your ambition, music teaches us so much about ourselves”.
Rebecca has taught students from age 5 to 75 and was an intensive practice coach for children auditioning for pre-college in Manhattan. She has given masterclasses and coachings in high schools and universities throughout the country including LaGuardia High School, University of Michigan and Williams College.
