“I want to create a nurturing environment for my students where they can feel safe, enjoy themselves, and recognize that music will always be a source of support, regardless of their backgrounds. Music truly belongs to everyone!”
Originally from Venezuela, Maria is an Elementary music teacher at Reading Public Schools. She has been immersed in music education since the age of four, studying violin, voice, and piano under renowned maestros from “El Sistema.” A graduate of the Conservatory of Music in her hometown, Maria approaches every challenge with a positive attitude, which she strives to instill in her students.
For Maria, the most crucial aspect of studying music is cultivating a genuine passion for it. Engaging with music that resonates personally can take time, but together we will discover that significance. Music devoid of meaning is merely a collection of notes in the air.
