Kevin Burke has been sharing his love of music with students and audiences throughout the Boston area for more than 30 years. As an experienced instrumental music educator and professional percussionist, Kevin has taught hundreds of young musicians while directing school bands, percussion ensembles, and music programs in the Waltham Public Schools for over 30 years with enthusiasm and care.
Kevin believes that music lessons should be engaging, encouraging, and goal-oriented. He enjoys helping students build strong musical skills while fostering confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of making music. Throughout his career, he has taught woodwinds, brass, and percussion and even founded a popular summer rock band camp to give high school students exciting opportunities to perform contemporary music together.
Outside the classroom, Kevin is an active performer in the Boston music community. He is a founding member of the touring tribute band Live Bullet and regularly performs in musical theater pit orchestras throughout New England.
Kevin is excited to be part of the MJ’s Music School family and looks forward to helping students of all ages and experience levels discover the joy of music through fun, supportive, and inspiring lessons.
