At age 10, Alex Brander discovered drumming and his passion. Inspired by Cape Cod’s music scene, he progressed from school band to gigging, exploring diverse styles and genres along the way. With guidance from teacher John Jamison, Alex made his way to the University of New Hampshire. There, he studied Music Education/Performance under Les Harris Jr. and Nancy Smith, honing his skills in jazz bands, orchestras, and solo settings. Since 2014, Alex has been teaching and freelancing consistently. In 2017, he began touring extensively with the band Big D and the Kids Table, performing throughout the country, as well as in the UK, Europe, and Canada. Alex teaches drums in all styles, hand percussion, and steel pan.
